Passage: The human respiratory system is a series of organs responsible for taking in oxygen and expelling carbon dioxide. The primary organs of the respiratory system are lungs, which carry out this exchange of gases as we breathe. Red blood cells collect the oxygen from the lungs and carry it to the parts of the body where it is needed. During this exchange, carbon dioxide is collected and returned to the lungs to be expelled.

Passage: Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high. Blood pressure is measured both as the heart beats (systolic pressure) and as it relaxes between beats (diastolic pressure). Normal blood pressure is below 120/80 mmHg. High blood pressure is a common condition that can lead to serious complications if not managed effectively.
